there were eight customers inside of the post office at the time of the evacuation. over my shoulder you can see this is still very much an active scene. this is what we know, crews and haz-mat units are investigating a suspicious substance found on a package at the laurel branch in oakland. oakland police tell me oakland fire received a call around 10 a.m. that an employee had an unknown substance leaking from a package. in less than 20 minutes, officials had cleared the facility of employees and customers. outside the building in the parking lot two employees of the office office reported signs coughing and eye irritation. those two employees are receiving treatment from first responders.back live i can telle oakland postmaster general has arrived. they are evacuating the situation. no one has been allowed to pass the barrier because they've not cleared the area. we have seen some of the first responders remove the haz-mat gear they had been wearing giving an indication that whatever threat there may have been, it may not still be active. once again they have not cleared the scene. we

car took off and crashed into a car at 98th and stanley in oakland. >> reporter: we just got the name of the driver of that bmw. he is 34-year-old saint dewan moore he's in custody, he will be facing serious charges for hitting a lincoln that had five inside, one person was killed. chp officers say the driver of this bmw stopped when they pulled him over. as they walked up to his car, he took off and caused a fatal car accident. they don't know why. >> does not appear to be that the bmw was stolen. we are still trying to determine the driver of the bmw fled the scene. >> reporter: he crashed into a lincoln carrying five people. a woman in her 20s was killed. two others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. >> they were minding their own business and unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time, as bet we can tell there was no criminal activity involve -- as best we can tell there was no criminal activity involved in their behave. >> reporter: as they tried to turn left on to 580 the bmw was driving north and hit the lincoln. this wasn't a high speed chase it didn't l

just in own robberies aimed at toll takers on a bay area bridge. good morning i'm kristen sze. >>> and i'm cheryl jennings. highway patrol announced suspects are in custody accused of robbing toll takers on the carquinez bridge. terry mcsweeney joins us live. >> reporter: they just announced three suspects are in custody for the crime spree that began in the fall last year to the spring of this year all suspects from vallejo. this happened carquinez bridge toll chp says the three in custody would drive up to the booths, usually show weapons, demand money and off they would go. complicating the investigation they wore ski masks and driving stolen cars. i asked how they found the suspects? >> it has been a year and a half long investigation. i work with vallejo police and figured out who were the car thiefs in vallejo and figured out who was who and we had evidence and the evidence was submitted and went from there. >> reporter: the three men are 30-year-old chris miller, 43-year-old robert white, 47-year-old david morales, tied to three of the 10 robberies that occurred. the entire 10 r

happening at a home in engel side heights. abc7 news reporter ama dates is live with the latest on this. ama? >> dan, fire officials will confirm one person was found dead in the house. they will not say anything about the victim's identitiment we are are -- identity. we are a block away from the house. you can see what it looked like when we arrived on scene. it broke out about 8:40. about 40 firefighters responded, and they were able to put the fire out in 40 minutes. it burned through the garage and the second floor of the home. one person was found dead inside. now it wasn't the resident or the neighbor who called the fire in. it was an off duty firefighter who smelled smoke. >> firefighters have had good noses. they smelled like some wood was burning somewhere. they let the you are fireman owkn. >> reporter: and most of the damage was contained to that house on the corner. there was some smoke damage to the house next to it. one person has been confirmed dead, and they are finishing up at the scene. the fire officials tell me they will board it up as a crime scene so police an

forecast coming up. katie. >> francis, thank you. we are also keeping an eye on water level at bay area reservoirs which have been filling up rapidly with all the rain. many nearing capacity. we are live at lexington reservoir. how are things there? >> hi, katie. we are in a break right now from the rain. but as you mentioned, we are at lexington reservoir. it's right next to us, next to hay way 17. it's the largest rainwater reservoir in the santa clara valley water district and it's currently at 63% capacity. as you might guess, it's a different scene across the bay area. we have video from yesterday in marin county where water, if you can believe, was rationed once in the early '90s, but now the lake near mt. tam is full. it's overflowing. it's the a same for bon tempe dam. rushing water is cascadinger the top into alpine lake below. reservoirs don't typically top off until april. >> all of our reservoirs have reached capacity. that's the earliest that we have done that sense 1983. >> the earliest capacity reached in nearly 30 years in marin county. in san francisco the public utilit
